6 signs you are an empath

Has anyone ever told you growing up that you are too sensitive, leaving you feeling like something is wrong with you?  Let me clear things up. There is NOTHING wrong with being sensitive to the world around you.  It’s quite possible that you were born into this world as an empath. An empath is a highly sensitive person to the external environment around them. They are affected by other’s emotions, sights, sounds, energy and almost anything that can ignite your senses.

These are 6 tell tale signs you are an empath 

1. You feel other people’s emotions and take them on as your own. Often feeling like you need to fix the issue or problem at hand because you identify with the pain, the sadness, the anxiety at a cellular level.  This results in you experiencing health problems such as headaches, nausea and overwhelming fatigue that you can’t seem to shake. 

2. Feeling overwhelmed and anxious in large crowds or groups. Absorbing other peoples or places' energy can make you feel like you want to crawl out of your skin. It’s like a fire alarm to your physical, mental and emotional body.

3. You attract people who tend to tell you their problems.  This is because you embody the trust factor in your aura and people are drawn to that. They might even say to you, I don’t know why I am telling you this.  

4. You are sensitive to loud noises. You may find it hard to attend concerts, sporting events, loud restaurants or bars because you feel overstimulated in your nervous system.

5. You enjoy being in nature because it feels like a safe calming place to be. Being in the elements help you relieve stress and overwhelm and you feel genuinely connected to the earth and nature around you.

6. You need alone time often. Even if you consider yourself an extrovert with many friends, your body, mind and spirit requires time alone to recharge and to become grounded within yourself.  

Being a sensitive empath in a chaotic world can feel very overwhelming at times. It doesn’t have to always be that way.  Making your own mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs a priority everyday will help you navigate peacefully through your daily life.  Don’t panic, your empathic abilities give you the gift of being highly intuitive and to be a powerful healer not only for yourself but for others as well.
