Radical self acceptance is available to you
Healing begins when you connect with your body first. Your mental healing, physical healing, emotional healing and spiritual healing.
For me I seemed to always be in a constant battle with my body. Especially after birthing 2 babies. My mission has always been to push myself harder and faster. To do more everyday. My self worth was based on how much I could do in a day. Giving, saying yes to everyone’s requests, doing intense workouts that only lead me to more fatigue and burnout and endless to-do lists seem to become my addiction. My physical and mental health was declining quickly.
The past version of me never gave myself permission, the time or the space to really go deep into what I was feeling. I lived in my critical mind most of my waking hours.
That was only until I found yoga. It wasn’t love at first sight for my mind but my body felt like it finally came home to divine purpose. It was the connection of breath and movement together that had me out of my head and into my heart.
I felt so many emotions, deep within my tissues, that I have never acknowledged or connected to in the past.
Yoga gave me the space and permission to be in the present moment. It was my escape from my own personal reality.
In my practice I could just BE, without thinking of what is coming next on the to do list. This is what kept me coming back for more.
Learning to love, honor and accept yourself is a journey into the depths of your soul. It’s like a reunion of sorts and an exciting discovery at the same time.
The deeper you go and the more you connect the more curious you become. Discovering things about yourself that may have seemed like a mystery before.
A deep immersion of self will lead to radical self acceptance of self. No more judging, shaming or guilting your way through life because you have met your soul and accepting yourself where you are in the present moment.
Love, honor and accepting yourself as you are no matter the circumstances is the biggest gift you could ever give yourself and the people who love you the most. You are worthy of a slower, more intentional life that brings you joy. Burnout and exhaustion is not a badge of honor in your life nor should it give you bragging rights.
Your worth is not based on how much you can do in a day and what you are capable of doing for others. You are worthy of rest. You are worthy when feeling anger or despair. You are worthy when others serve you.
Some other personal things that have helped me in my journey to radical love and acceptance have been connecting with other soul lead women, journaling and automatic writing and a consistent meditation practice.
Life will pass you by quickly so today find that one thing that gives you time and space to love, honor and fully accept yourself as authentically as you can and do it over and over again.
