Want more peace in your life? Do this....

Your intuition is your soul’s language. There are so many reasons to develop and strengthen your intuition. But you might wondering if that is accessible to you. IT IS! Intuition is not a gift or a talent. It is something that each being is brought into this world with. It just gets clouded as we move through life.

Here are some simple ways that you can strengthen your intuition today.

1. BE STILL BE PRESENT: This is the simplest way yet not the easiest way.  So often I see people rushing through life from one commitment or event to the next like a tornado.  I WAS this person. I know from experience there is no possible way you can hear the small still voice within when your mind is off in a distant land trying to solve everyone else’s problems or dilemmas.  You are a very ambitious go-getter and it can feel like you are living a life on a hamster wheel feeling exhausted and burnt out. Your mind is racing most of your day and for some of you even through the night.  Living in the past or the future will be a sure way to cut off your connection with your Higher Self.  The message wants to come through but the noise that you have created, yes created, is way too loud to compete with the chaos of your outer world.  So practice each day for 10 minutes.  In a quiet space if possible.  Yes you will have thoughts but just redirect them back to your breath. Connect with your body and the sensations you feel.  Breath through it. Notice it. Feel it.   Taking time to be still will strengthen your ability to be present when in action.

2. CONSISTENT MEDITATION AND PRAYER: Being still leads us into the act of meditation and prayer. YES it works when you do it consistently.  It doesn't have to be an elaborate act or setup for it to be effective.  Find a comfortable spot in your house where you can be away from distractions, even if it’s locking yourself in a closet for a few minutes.  Start to breathe and feel into your body. . Release tension that may be held in certain parts of your body.  If there is something that is pressing that’s on your mind and heart ask Divine Source for guidance on the matter.   Relax your mind and allow your heart to receive guidance.  It’s usually a good idea to have paper and pen nearby to write down what comes through.  You can ask for guidance on any area of life. If something has you worried, ask for guidance. If you don’t know what the next step in your career is, ask for guidance. If you are ready for a new relationship, ask for guidance.  It is readily available. The more you connect in meditation and prayer the more natural it will become for you.  There are no wrong ways to meditate and pray.  You do what works for you. Just remember consistency is key to strengthening your intuitive abilities.

3. PRACTICE MAKING A CONNECTION WITH YOUR MIND BODY AND SPIRIT:  Connecting to your mind, body and spirit you will strengthen your inner knowing by becoming more familiar with yourself.  This takes practice and intention.  The biggest impact on my own intuition was my yoga practice. In yoga you become intentional with breath and movement at the same time. It gives a chance for the mind to relax and to connect with your soul.  Just like meditation and prayer every time you do it you will get something new from it. There are so many people who rush through life and operate solely inside their minds, cutting off all communication from their spirit and soul.  Start to incorporate activities that feed your mind, body and soul. Maybe it’s reading, dancing, swimming, yoga, exercise, meditating, and connecting with friends. Whatever that looks like for you, make it a priority to do something everyday that feels good for your body, mind and spirit and you will see a transformation in your life.  You will notice that inner connection with your soul strengthens.

4. JOURNALING AND REFLECTION:  Journaling on areas of life is one of the easiest ways to get information that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Automatic writing after meditation has become a daily ritual for me because it brings out so much insight and reflection on certain things in my life.  I often will ask myself contemplative questions before meditation and when finished I free write on what comes through.  You will see that this is a miraculous way to gain clarity on unresolved issues or questions.  You can also journal first thing in the morning or just before bed about the day’s events.   This practice creates a consistent connection with self and that will strengthen your intuitive abilities.

Consistently tuning into the quiet still voice that you were born with through these practices you will notice that your life changes. You feel less stress and more at peace. You will be more present in your everyday life and have less of an urge to move through your day at mock speed. Your relationship with yourself and others will change instantly.  Your mind will finally be able to relax and you notice that you are more creative, confident and clear in the decisions you make.

It takes time, patience and practice but always remember that no one outside of you knows better than you know yourself. YOU ARE THE GURU!
